Babbling Brook B & B

We stayed here twice, for one night each time. The rooms are charming, and the breakfast is delicious and filling. The B&B is in a safe neighborhood near the botanical garden, which is a nice place for a walk. Morag and Gordon are wonderful hosts, and helped us navigate to and from the airport. There is wifi, although this wasn't mentioned in the StayNow post. There was a power outage both times we stayed - not the owners fault, and it didn't bother us, but something to be aware of. Apparently, there are power outages in PMB regularly. Morag and Gordon provided candles and lanterns, and we aren't really TV watchers, so not a problem for us. We highly recommend this B&B!

We were in Pietermaritzburg recently and we could not have chosen a better place to spend the night before the graduation. Babbling Brook is one of the very good places to spend some nights in PMB. We were warmly welcomed by the owner himself and we liked it. The room was spic and span and the breakfast was really good. I recommend this facility to my friends and it her visitors to PMB. Thank you Gordon and hope to see you soon again.

At last I have found everything I want in a B and B - very attractive, comfortable accommodation with plentiful tea, coffee and milk in the room and a delicious breakfast! I will be back.

A lovely warm welcome from Nonnie awaited us and that was very nice having stayed at some places where this was not the case. The garden flatlet was lovely and very private if there both flatlets are rented.It is a bit steep at the bottom of a drive but breakfast can be served in the flatlet and the car is parked there so not a problem. The place is very quaint and the views of the high trees and garden are lovely and relaxing. There is no pretense at this bnb. The pool is on the small side but the owners have made the whole place feel very warm and down to earth, and you could be in your own home. The little patio outside the garden rooms are lovely, and having the barbeque too was a welcomed change after having eaten out for the past few weeks as we were travelling around South Africa. Most importantly, the beds and cushions are of a good standard and we appreciated the block out blinds. All in all, we all really loved staying in both the garden flatlets. They have security and we felt very safe indeed. The owners Morag and Derek were away but Ben was very helpful and warm. Nonnie gave the impression that nothing would be too much trouble and she made a very good first impression.

We enjoyed our stay in this place, its quiet and private yet not intimidating. The owners are very welcoming. I'll recommend it to friends and family.

Morag and Gordon are fabulous people who go out of their way to make sure your stay is awesome! Rooms are beautifully decorated, clean and spacious - the shower is HUGE, which is fabulous. Poached eggs were just right and the entire breakfast was great. Definitely the place to stay, we will be back.
