A breath of fresh air
Braai on the stoop with your favourite tipple, look out over rolling farmland interspersed with small dams and sheep, horses and cattle grazing nearby, surrounded in the distance by hills and mountains, with the wind the only sound in the tall trees. With all the comfort of a well laid out and equipped fully functional cottage that is home for such a short the only regret is having to leave.

We had a wonderful stay at Forellenhof. The accommodation is spacious, beautifully decorated and kitted out with everything one could need, to say nothing of the fantastic view and bird life. We will definitely be back!

Forellenhof stay.
Our cottage at Forellenhof was very well appointed with good quality linen on the beds and everything you could need in the kitchen.
Hosts Johan and Ronelle were very attentive and helpful and on hand. Ronelle made us a very nice supper. It's also well situated to visit all the birding spots in the vicinity. Would certainly recommend.

Amazing hosts
Having travelled the world, I have never come across such amazing hosts as Johan and Ronelle.The thought that goes into making the difference in a holiday, comes naturally to them. I arrived as one only can from the madness of JHB and left with a calmness I have not felt for years.Every morning I was delighted by the beautiful sunrises and enamoured with the little town of Wakkerstroom which is steeped in history. The fact that we could take our dogs was a definite bonus.My 10 year old son claims to have had the best holiday of his life. I have with out a doubt left a little of my heart behind and cant wait to return in the summer.

Awesomeness!!! The one word describes our experience... Beautiful area, stunning view, peace and quiet farm atmosphere, great hosts who made the stay so relaxed and comfortable, beautiful unit etc etc... This is the place where I see myself retiring!!! If peace, quiet and tranquility in comfort is what you are after, Forellenhof is your place to go. No 'forelle' as yet, but plans are in the offing to introduce them to the property. Lovely views from the stoep and although Wakkerstroom is only down the mountain, one can't see it, which adds to the peace.

A spot of heaven
What a beautiful little piece of heaven. We only stayed a night much to our disappointment as we were in the midst of a long travel and needed a stop over for the night. The owners, Johan and Ronelle went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, thanks! Amazing touches that make the place magical- a smiling face on a willow tree, a swinging bench by the vlei...true hits with our little children. We would definately recommend staying there...and longer than one night if you can.
