A Great Welcoming Stay
With its location close to Kloof street and surrounded by hipster restaurants, we were concerned with potential noise levels. But, as promised by the staff, our executive room was surprisingly quiet - a welcome surprise that allowed us to indulge in urban raucousness but regain our middle-aged suburban sanity in the quiet containment of our suite. The loft suite was light, bright and well appointed with delightful contemporary decor. The staff were friendly, helpful and once again, young and energetic. Perhaps the only criticism is that we would have preferred an extra length king bed, greater tv channel offering and a consistent mid-morning cleaning service. Other than that, we would gladly return to this delightful small hotel.

Excellent Stay!
Our stay at the hotel was enjoyable. We experienced good service from the staff, breakfasts at Knead and Mano Oh Mano were very good. All in all, a pleasant experience.

Wow what a stunning hotel, modern rooms with every perfect detail till by the chandelier. The service is exceptional, really make you feel welcome. The rooms have everything you need and more. The restaurants nearby makes your stay even easier, they deliver to your room. Definitely a great hotel to stay, thank you for the amazing accommodation. We will be back one day.

Fabulous location
The first thing that strikes you about the Hippo is its fabulous location, right in the heart of the coolest parts of Cape Town and with views of Table Mountain. The second that hits you is the funky design and décor – it’s an establishment that can truly call itself boutique and a fantastic experience. We’ll be back whenever we’re in Cape Town!
