A perfect weekend and perfect place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. A beautiful soul finding private retreat. The sunset and jackals evening calls rounded off each day. Thank you to RuNel and Frans. We will most certainly be back

Lovely Relaxing Getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely retreat. The clean air, the ultimate privacy, views from your balcony, your own splash pool and fire pit! If you are looking for a romantic, private getaway, this is definitely the place to go to! Warm hospitality and very nice owners. Thank you for everything. See you soon :)
P.S: Rather leave your children at home because you will want to relax as much as possible and even though they do accommodate children we will rather go just as a couple next time for the ultimate romantic getaway.

Retreat indeed!
Lovely, private and cozy cabin, peaceful surroundings, including the swimming pool, braai areas and the Hex river hiking trail under a leave roof. Two nights are definitely not enough - the true tranquility and silence of the bush veld atmosphere were overwhelming. Although it was very hot, we were blessed with an afternoon rain shower which contributed to an even more beautiful view and sunset! We appreciate the hospitality and friendliness of the hosts, Frans and Runel!

A lasting impression
We had a wonderful time at Impressions Retreat!
When we arrived we were greeted with chocolates on the bed and a complementary bottle of wine in the fridge, congratulating us on our wedding anniversary.
We pre-ordered a breakfast basket for Saturday morning and what a treat it was! Everything was neatly packed into a beautiful basket.
There is a wide variety of birds that we enjoyed watching every morning. There are a few books at the cottage on birds, reptiles, trees, etc. that came in quite handy in identifying everything we saw.
Before we left on Sunday we went on one of the (three) hiking trails. It was lovely! We found leopard spoor in the mud amongst a few others.
We would strongly recommend staying for three nights as opposed to two.
We will miss the amazing fire pit, the warmth of the cottage during the roaring thunderstorm and the spectacular view of the great mountains.
Thank you very much for all the small little things you've thought of to make our stay so special. We will definitely see you again soon!
