Sandcastle Lodge

We stayed in Sandcastle Lodge in Dec 2011 for appox. 4 nights, while the property looks good from the outside we found that the bed linen had not been washed before we arrived as I found chocolate on my sheets and there is lots of random stuff put together in the house. Upon arrival the owner was very keen to get her money in cash. During our stay we had to call the landlord to fix the dishwasher as it flooded the kitchen and Gardeners arrived at the property and had keys to get into the house and the flat at the bottom we were not too happy about this as all our personal items where in the house therefore we stressed this to the landlord she assured us that they were safe. The next day (on our last night in the property) we all went out for dinner in one of the cars and left the bakkie behind. When we arrived back to the house we found that the bakkie and all of the bottom flat had been stolen (nothing of the house contents was removed) luckily we had tracker on the bakkie so it was found however upon this happening we called the landlord to advise her of what had happened. She refused to come round to the property and did not seem to take any interest in our safety or show any concern for the state of her property. The next day our friend had to go round to the house for the police to take finger prints (take note we had paid to be in the property up until 10am that day) the landlord arrived and started shouting telling our friend to get off her property and that we had staged a burglary. Our friend and the police were very stocked and advised her to remove herself as we had paid to be on the property till 10am. I would definitely not recommend this property to anyone it is surrounded by bush and the landlord is not very accommodating, our stay in Mossel Bay was a nightmare thanks to the landlord.
