A beautiful spot for a 2 night getaway!
Our Snug cottage was quaint and personal with an incredible off road hiking trail and breathtaking views of the countryside.
We really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect
We were made to feel at home immediately. The cosy, where we stayed for a weekend to attend the wedding of friends nearby, was delightful and met all of our needs. Hotwater bottles on the beds, and a very cosy fireplace in the living room. Our hosts were so friendly and flexible, letting us check out later in the afternoon. I would recommend staying here, I only wish I had been able to stay longer and do some fly-fishing!

I was sold on the photos and the good reviews of Schaefer's Halt and so made my enquiries. Replies were quick and I booked knowing accommodation in the area was filling up fast.
Our hosts were superb, the setting pristine. The Snug was clean and extremely comfortable with everything you need.
My only disappointment was having to leave.

Lovely, comfortable and very private, we had a wonderful weekend in this cozy cottage in such a beautiful setting. The owners were so kind and welcoming and very helpful; they went out of their way to make our stay a very pleasant one. Definitely recommended!

We loved it. Felt really at home and Trevor and Sharon treated us like old friends. The facilities are just right and you're close enough to all the sites to be able to explore the area, or else you can spend time walking around the farm or mountain biking further affield.

Relaxing! Beautiful! Glorious!
What a peaceful way to end off our year. Schaefers' Halt is nestled in the most beautiful setting, far enough from the craziness of town but close enough to pop in when you need to. Our cottage was gorgeously cosy, equipped with absolutely everything - from potjie pots to cheese graters. We highly recommend you pay them a visit... cast a line in one of the well-stocked dams, put your feet up and enjoy the sound of the frogs as the sun drops behind the mountains.
