We booked this house for a family weekend. The house is in a prime location right by the sea with some amazing views. However the house was absolutely filthy on arrival, the agent had insisted that the house was cleaned but it definitely wasn't. There was dust on all the floors, we walked through so many cobwebs, there were loose cigarettes and broken glass found under my parents bed, the counter-tops in the kitchen as well as all the plates and crockery were dirty and dusty. The tray in the oven was disgusting with old food left on it which we discovered as we were cooking breakfast one morning. The couches were full of dust as well as the carpets which you could see had not been moved in a very long time. We left the house much cleaner than how we found it. The toilet in my parents bedroom was broken as well as their bedside light had no bulb in it. This is not what you would expect considering the high price you pay per day for the house. As we arrived plumbers were also sent to the house while we were in it and they switched off our water for a few hours. Surely this could've been done prior to our arrival. When the state of the house was brought up with Marissa (the agent), she basically ignored our comments and insisted that she had sent the cleaners in before our arrival. There was also no outside furniture or table and chairs by the Braai area, we had to carry the kitchen table in and out of the house. When we asked her where the Braai room table was she said the tenants next door were using it and that she hadn't gotten it back yet from them. She was also quite unfriendly and not very welcoming. We would definitely not book this house again. We were very dissappointed.
