Dunkeld Country & Equestrian Estate

My husband and I had chosen the Bergview self catering cottage for our first anniversary based on the pictures on the Safari now mobile website. The cottage we were given the keys to was very different to that in the pictures, however. The bathroom only had a small, dirty bath. The cottage bedroom looked nothing like those in the pictures with a dingy double bed squashed in behind some cupboards. Some of the windows didn't close properly either - a problem in freezing weather. When we tried to explain to the manager why we were so disappointed with the room (expecting much better from the pictures we had seen and the dirty bath) her initial reaction was that if we wanted to leave we could go ahead. This was after we had paid for the weekend and driven all the way there. We were then reluctantly offered one of the hotel rooms with a twin bed. Although the estate is beautiful, it is the first time I have gone away and been relieved to check out and go home. There are much better places to stay in Dullstroom.

Wonderful place, great food, super friendly and helpful staff. Loads for the kids to do. Cant wait to book our next trip there. Accommodation also clean, beautiful and comfortable.
