Wow! What a pleasure!!  Lovely cosy cottage, definitely self catering. Table and chairs for meals. Loads of brochures of the area and things to do. The hostess, Anelia, pre-booked us trips to SALT and to the star gazing in the evening! All the little "extras" were provided. A loaf of freshly baked bread awaits you upon arrival. Braai facilities outside. Electric blankets on all beds, heated rail for the towels, large fridge/freezer. Most improtantly, the cottage had a loo seperate from the bathroom.
IN case you arrive when no-one is there, have a look under the front door mat for the key. All in all a lovely stay, and highly recommended.

Fresh and holsum

Upon arrival at the Galileo Cottage we were met with freshly bakedbread, homemade fig preserve and cold drinks courtesy of our beautiful hostAnailia who was charming and friendly.

The cottage was well laid out and caters for your every need, itis surrounded by an amazing garden, full of local plans and hand craftedornaments.

We dined at Anailia's restaurant and coffee shop Cluster d’ Hote andwere hosted by her husband Johann who made us very welcome whilst Anailiacooked up the best tomato and bean soup, Lamb Shanks, the likes we have nevertasted before and to finish the meal off we ordered the Lemon meringue. Theservice was impeccable and with an extensive wine list all at a very reasonablecost.

When you plan to stay over at Sutherland youneed to arrange a stargazing tour with Jurg who can be contacted on 082 5569589.

Charming self-catering cottage
The cottage is cosy, comfortable, very well equipped, clean and neat. The host was extremely kind and friendly and booked tours for us in advance. She suggested places to eat for dinner and gave us other useful information about the area. The personal touches added to the cottage, such as homemade bread and jam, rose petals and chocolates on the bed, orange juice in the fridge and a helpful guide made this a special experience. I can recommend this cottage to anyone who would like to enjoy a self catering stay in Sutherland.

Quaint Cottage Home in Sutherland
Galileo Cottage is set in its own private garden just a little away from the main street of Sutherland - both the middle of nowhere and centre of the Universe. The decor is rustic and charming the hosting is friendly and entailed gifts of homemade bread and preserves. A library of interesting tomes and a DVD library are added extras. Loved it.

Beautiful spot in small town Northern Cape
Galileo Cottage is a really cosy and beautifully looked after self catering cottage. The bed was super comfy and we had everything we needed. The owner is also the owner/chef at a restaurant in town called Cluster D'Hote which is DEFINITELY the place to eat in Sutherland. While a bit pricey, it was worth every cent for the amazing food we had. Anelia, the owner, will also book tours at S.A.L.T and the Star Gazing experience in town for you which is so helpful. We were also given a delicious loaf of freshly baked homemade bread to take home with us for breakfast, which was a lovely touch for a self catering cottage. Would highly recommend!

Great homely cottage
Galileo Cottage was like a home away from home. The cottage has been decorated beautifully and everything has been thought of, from the ice cold drink in the fridge on arrival, to the loaf of freshly baked bread for breakfast. We loved staying here and would have happily stayed longer to explore the town some more.

Long weekend away
My mom and I had a very comfortable stay at the Galileo Cottage. The lovely warm bread and rusks on arrival, the old stove fireplace and electric blankets helped keep the winter cold at bay. We also enjoyed a wonderful meal at the owners restaurant, Cluster d'Hote.

Lovely place
What a lovely place this is. We were unfortunately only there one night. Even though it was freezing in Sutherland, I really did not feel like going back to Cape Town!

Quaint comfy cottage full of extras
We spent a restful weekend in Sutherland at the Galileo Cottage. Wonderful attention to detail, from the fresh farm bread and butter to the ready packed AGAR-type stove, collection of fresh rusks, loving decor and great hospitality of the owners. And a meal at their restuarant is a total MUST!
