Great!
We had a great stay at Hluhluwe Backpackers.
The rooms are simple but clean. The atmosphere is very relaxed. Dave made us a delicious chicken potjie with salad, rice and bread. Eating with other guests under an amazing starry night made it even more special. After diner a nice game of pool or darts. Thanks Dave and Jeanee for your hospitality and good service.

My boyfriend and I were going to the game park in Hluhluwe, and we need accomodation. We couldn't find anything available in the park so we started looking around to see where would be the closest to stay near the game park and came across Hluhluwe backpackers.
When we arrived we were welcomed by Nelly the "manager" who settled us right in. It met all the criteria: Clean bathrooms, shower and beds. The kitchen had all the tools to make cooked meals. For those of you who are lazy and dont want to cook, Nelly provides meals for breakfast, lunch and supper. Whatever you need, she can provide it for you.
For anyone who needs good clean accomodation, I would definitely recommend Hluhluwe backpackers.
Lastly, the owner, is welcoming, freindly and always willing to provide you assistance whenever you need. The owner also provides tour services so that all you need to do is tell him what you want to see and he will have a list of activities or places to go and see. He will literally plan your holiday, with no problems at all.

Nice Location, Impossible to Find
I chose Hluhluwe Backpackers because it was very close to one of the gates for Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, and the price was very low. I didn't expect much from such a cheap place, but I did expect a decent sign for the place and a proper door for our room. The problem was that the worn-out sign said "St. Lucia Backpackers." Nowhere on the website or my reservation confirmation emails did it say that this place might also go by a different name. We were lost for quite some time before we finally turned into this place and found out it was actually Hluhluwe Backpackers. Then we had a problem with our door. It was very difficult to close and lock. The owners definitely need to get the door fixed and their sign updated.

The sign at the time had been taken down for repairs this was explained to the guests. Also directions clearly state that Hluhluwe Backpackers is 1.5 km before the Memorial Gate. There is also huge painted sign on the roof saying Hluhluwe Backpackers.
