Maskam Guest Farm – Ancarene
Sincere thanks and gratitude go to Ancarene for our very pleasant stay at Maskam Guest Farm during March 2012. The friendly reception by Whisky, the Sheepdog, the neat and well-kept Berggans cottage, and your recommendations of activities to do and places to visit was highly appreciated.
Highlights during our stay include the beautiful mountain views, the starry night sky, and the absolute silence, driving the Gifberg pass, and exploring the Maskam 4X4 route on foot. Our self catering cottage was well equipped and meals and braaiwood could be arranged if required.
Your effort in establishing the Maskam cottages and your passion for creating such a nice oasis in this region is truly appreciated. It is the perfect staging point for exploring this beautiful area even outside of the flower season.
We will definitely recommend Maskam Guest Farm to our friends.

A little house in the veld
A great place to go when there is no electricity since the little house is all powered by solar engery and gas. A beautiful little place to be and I highly recommend ordering dinner which was delicious.

Good
Simply a wonderful place! The setting near Gifberg and Maskam mountains is very scenic. The chalet is very well kept and the veranda offers wonderful views. We haven't seen the farm during flower season, but even in summer it is really worth the trip. Thanks to Ancarene, the lovely host, who made us feel very welcome. We also enjoyed the food.

Cosy and well attended to
Maskam was a great choice for our one-night stop on the way to Augrabies and the Kgalagadi park. The host is great, friendly and always available to help.

Excellent accommodation
We really enjoyed our stay. The hosts thought of just about everything when they planned this little secluded guest house.

Peaceful Bliss
We stayed in Berggans cottage at Maskam Guest Farm which is a charming little peace of heaven with a lovely view of the farm dam and all it's birdlife plus the wonderful mountains. The peace and quiet is heavenly, we found it very hard to leave. Ancarene is a wonderful hostess who really cares about her guests' wellbeing and comfort.

The cottage was well appointed and clean. Lovely peaceful surroundings, one night was just to short to really unwind and enjoy the bird and plant life. Truly worth another visit, especially in the flowering season.

Lekker gebly
Die 2 de keer wat ons by Maskam Guest Farm oorslaap. Die huisies is baie skoon en netjies. Die eienaars is baie gasvry en sal enige iets doen om jou verblyf aangenaam te maak. Die uitsig oor die Maskam berge is asemrowend. Beslis die moeite om daar oor te slaap.

Excellent place, quiet, clean great hosts and good food
We liked it so much that we stayed 3 instead of 2 nights. Very clean and well equipped cottage. We had the Berggans cottage. Very quiet and private. We enjoyed the hospitality of Ancarene and the traditional South African dinner that was delivered to our cottage. Very reasonable price for the quality of the accommodation. Will return if we are in the area.

Very special
We had a wonderful time. Beautiful farm and very comfortable accommodation. Our hosts were so friendly - and the marked flower walking trail on the farm one of the highlights of our tour. Also wonderful farm delicacies. A recommended drive up the Gifberg pass was unforgettable. Thank you so much.

Great farm experience
It was a great experience at the farm. Totally remote from the busy city/town environment. The lady who operates the farm houses and her husband are extremly frindly and accomodative. They have got a good idea of its sorrounding area. Only negative is the congrested inner layout of the eco guest house. Also GPS cordinates provided in the web page do not guide correctly from N7 nor town.
