Absolutely beautiful!
Raptor Ridge was the cherry on the top at the end of our road trip. We got to experience a peaceful night in the Karoo with a breath taking view. We felt welcome thanks to Karin and her husband and our room was more than comfortable. I would recommend Raptor Ridge to anyone travelling past the Gariep Dam.

Great location, so peacefull and quiet. The hospitality was out of this world. The whole lodge is equiped with all the necesarry amenities and the rooms are beautiful.

Reception was very good, and the host were friendly. Rooms were clean and well appointed.
The restaurant décor was nice and comfortable but there was absolutely nothing to buy. Not even water or cold drinks. The food was lumped into a plate (cooked beans, cooked pumpkin and some chicken breasts and a bit of salad. All for R100. Breakfast was even worse - watery scrambled eggs, some savoury mince and toast. R60). If you would just like to sleep over -100% . Give the restaurant a miss and rather make use of Gariep's facilities (10km away). Remember to bring all your own consumables.

Peace with a View
Raptor Ridge offers a stay quite literally off the beaten track. Lovely views of Gariep Dam, with wonderful sunsets over the hills, animals drinking at the waters edge. Well appointed, but use of Solar power means no kettles etc, so bring a gas skottel for that!

Baie lekker
Dit was n baie aangename naweek. Het dit verskriklik geniet. Annamarie die gasvrou was baie behulpsaam en het ons baie welkom laat voel. Julle sal ons definitief weer sien as ons in daardie deel van die wereld is. Weereens baie Dankie.

Great stay
Thanks to Karin and her mom and dad for having us at Raptor Ridge over the last week or so. A great place to overnight. We finally spotted our Blue Cranes (20 of them actually) last Friday...yay.

a pleasant stay
A lovely lodge with splendid views overlooking the Dam. The setting is tranquil and the starry Karoo sky simply breath taking. My hosts were warm, friendly people and made me feel quite at home. The room was clean and very comfortable. The only thing that was disappointing was that breakfast was advertised but on my arrival they informed me that breakfast would not be served and I had paid the full price. Aside from this, I would recommend staying at this lovely, homely place.

Romantic
Unless the not well organized reception we had a pleasant stay with a wonderfull view on the lake and the animals. The manager was very friendly. We missed a fridge and coffee/tea facilities.
