I had never been to Silver Hills Lodge before, so here are my thoughts
The Good
Greathospitality from Alan (Owner) and Barry (Manager).
The 7 units with DBB were very comfortable and clean.
The breakfasts & dinners were “set menu’s” but very good/tasty.
The Kamberg Valley is very beautiful!!!
The not so Good
The lodgewas not properly marked on Google maps, depicting it is a field near MooiRiver! This made finding the lodge a little challenging but got there ok.
I updated location subsequently on Google and it appears correct now.
The lodgeis expensive in my view, even for a 4 Star rated facility.
We wanted to stay in the self-catering units (2 of them), but these were notavailable for the nights we wanted. Landed up taking the bed and breakfast(+dinner) option at R1200 pp per night.
Were 4 of us (2 adults, 2 children (12&15)), and instead of taking 1 unit(which could have slept all 4 of us), we took 2 units as there was no pricedifference!! A bit crazy… (?)
At this daily rate, you can stay pretty much at any premium resort in theDrakensburg, and many of these resorts have a lot more to offer (facilities) andinclude Full Board, teas etc.
Facilitiesare limited on site. Some fishing, hikes, swimming pool & golf drivingrange pretty much it.
Wow what and amazing experience! Awesome setting, breathtaking views, superb service from everyone. If you are looking for the 'x factor' when it comes to a stunning holiday then a visit to Silver Hill Lodge is a must!

Wonderful stay
I spent four days at Silver Hills Lodge and enjoyed every moment of my stay. Alan and Barry were wonderful hosts and took care of my every need including assisting me with some mechanical issues I had with my motorcycle. I have no doubts that I will return for another visit.

Relax Unwind Recharge

Our stay at Silver Hill Lodge
We had an absolutely relaxing, and amazing time at Silver Hill Lodge. The accommodation was cozy and clean, but most noteworthy was the great atmosphere and brilliant service we received. The owner, Allan, and his staff were absolutely accommodating and friendly. Will definitely go back.

Excellent lodge in magnificent setting
We just stayed a couple of nights during winter period (august 2013) in the self catering unit "Mountain retreat 1".
Silverhill lodge had more facilities than we could enjoy during our short stay: swimming pool playground, fishing pond, ... We didn't make time to enjoy the restaurant. Owners are very friendly and helpful, and very much available during our stay. WIFI connection was included.
Our mezzanine lodge was very comfortable, and price quality wise value for money. In winter time, the open fire in the house is more than welcome! We really enjoyed our stay, the tranquil but splendid environment and the hospitality of the owners. Highly recommended.

Simply delightful
Tranquil setting, beautiful surroundings and friendly hosts make Silver Hill Lodge the perfect place to stay for anyone who loves spending time in the Drakensberg. We will be back soon.

Highly recommended!
What a fantastic place to stay with great views! The accommodation was of a very high standard, the rooms were modern, spacious and spotlessly clean. Our hosts, Toy & Corrie were extremely friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend a stay at 'Silver Hill Lodge' and look forward to returning there in the future.
