Glorious surprise
En route home we booked to stay with Linda and Phil at Gumtree Guest House. The place was really lovely, very comfortable, Linda and Phil superb hosts and even recommended a fabulous place for dinner. The pool at Gumtree was an amazing relief when it was 40 degrees in Oudtshoorn. We will certainly use Gumtree again when next in the area and recommend it to anyone else.

My overnight stay - 07.01.2014
A very well appointed room with very comfortable accommodation coupled with very pleasant and accommodating hosts.
I would gladly recommend it and would return to The Gumtree Guest House should I, in the future, be in the area.

Outstanding Oudtshoorn!
Having driven from Knysna and arrived considerably earlier than the normal check-in time, Phil very kindly welcomed us and allowed us to choose our room and 'move in' before we had to head off to the Cango Caves. The Gumtree Guest House is set in beautiful grounds with good facilities. Our room was spacious with all the amenities we could wish for and was the closest to communal bar area - a huge plus! Our hosts, Phil and Linda, were excellent, from their recommendations of restaurants to activities in the surrounding areas - especially when our initial plans didn't work out. Furthermore, on our journey from Oudtshoorn to Stellenbosch, Phil even sent a text to warn us of a road closure and an alternative route.
We had a brilliant time in Oudtshoorn and would definitely recommend The Gumtree Guest House - we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again on our next visit to Oudtshoorn.
