Troutways Private Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Troutways Private Retreat. Although we didn't fish, the dams look well kept and we did see some large fish near the water surface. We went for long walks with our dogs, the grounds are beautiful with surrounding mountains. The farm animals are all such characters and the farm feels very authentic with them around. There are geese and pigs that walk around but all seem to mind their own business. We felt honoured to have the company of the farm dogs Buster and Jessica who happily accompanied us on our walks but always keeping a following distance as though they are considerate and making sure they don't disturb. Little Moses the staffie is such a bundle of love and also happy to pass on cuddles should you require any. We had excellent service from all the staff who were friendly and always offering to help. Micky the farm manager is very hospitable and hard working, she goes out of her way to make the guests feel welcome, nothing is too much trouble for her.
